Burlington man dies after hitting tree
A Burlington man is dead after his car ran off the road and hit a tree Saturday, according to authorities.
Posted — UpdatedThe crash happened just after 4 a.m. on Durham Street.
Vernell Ray Crisp Jr., 24, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu towards Elmira Street when his car ran off the road and struck a tree.
According to authorities, Crisp was treated at the scene, but died as a result of his injuries.
Latina Stanley, 29, of Burlington was also in the car and was taken to Moses Cone Hospital.
