Bunn Middle student killed in wreck
A Bunn Middle School seventh-grader died Thursday after a car in which he was riding slammed into a fence, authorities said.

Tyler Nathaniel Gower, 13, died Thursday night from injuries he received in a one-car wreck about 12 hours earlier, authorities said.
Gower's mother was northbound on John Winstead Road south of Louisburg shortly after 8 a.m. Thursday when she drove left of center, overcorrected and crashed into a fence on the right side of the road, authorities said. She told investigators she was trying to avoid a dog in the road.
The accident remains under investigation.
