— A bullet grazed a 7-year-old girl during a drive-by shooting in an apartment complex at 1126 S. Hoover Road Saturday night, police said.

Investigators said the girl was standing outside when someone fired from a vehicle and then drove away shortly before 10 p.m. Witnesses described the vehicle as a small, four-door, green compact car.

Officers said the girl, whose name wasn't released, was talking and coherent when they arrived. She was taken to Duke University Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.

Police and forensics investigators were on the scene processing evidence Sunday morning.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Investigator A. Cristaldi at 919-560-4281, x.29123 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.
