Broughton High student accused of stealing from exchange student

A Broughton High School student was arrested Thursday after police said she stole money and important travel documents from an exchange student at the school.

A Broughton High School student was arrested Thursday after police said she stole money and important travel documents from an exchange student at the school.

Hannah Anne Johnson, 17, of 3300-306 Cotton Mill Drive, was charged with misdemeanor larceny.

According to an arrest warrant, Johnson stole the student's wallet, which contained $40 in cash and a debit card. She also is accused of throwing away the student's passport.

Police said the exchange student must now go to the Brazilian consulate in Atlanta to get a replacement passport.
