Brothers charged with stealing $110K in electric service
Two Fayetteville brothers face accusations that they stole electric service for a decade, costing the city's utility more than $110,000 in damages.

Zarko Johnson, 55, of 4721 Beauford Drive, cost the Public Works Commission $50,945 and Johnny Johnson, 59, of 2114 Hope Mills Road, cost it $62,395 for unpaid service, damage, investigation fees and other expenses, police said.
The brothers were both charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and injuring wires and other fixtures of an electric power company. They have been released from jail after posting unsecured bonds.
Police said the investigation also revealed a third person who had stolen electric service, but that person paid about $30,000 in restitution to avoid criminal charges.
