Brother, sister charged in connection with assault

A Roanoke Rapids brother and sister were charged Tuesday in connection with an assault earlier this month in Halifax County.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A Roanoke Rapids brother and sister were charged Tuesday in connection with an assault earlier this month in Halifax County.

Terry Jay Lee, 26, was charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury, and Latia Jinnell Lee, 32, was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony.

The victim told investigators that he had been in altercation with Latia Lee about a month before the April 4 assault in the Branch Avenue area of Roanoke Rapids. Terry Lee and an unidentified man assaulted him and then left in a vehicle driven by Latia Lee, the victim told authorities.

Brother and sister were placed in the Halifax County jail. Terry Lee had a $15,000 bond, and Latia had a $2,500 bond.
