— A Roanoke Rapids brother and sister were charged Tuesday in connection with an assault earlier this month in Halifax County.

Terry Jay Lee, 26, was charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury, and Latia Jinnell Lee, 32, was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony.

The victim told investigators that he had been in altercation with Latia Lee about a month before the April 4 assault in the Branch Avenue area of Roanoke Rapids. Terry Lee and an unidentified man assaulted him and then left in a vehicle driven by Latia Lee, the victim told authorities.

Brother and sister were placed in the Halifax County jail. Terry Lee had a $15,000 bond, and Latia had a $2,500 bond.

Anyone with information about the identity of the other man involved in the assault should call the Halifax County Sheriff's Office at 252-583-8051 or Halifax County Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

davidbh61255: That's the norm for these kinds of people. They're tough in groups but wimps by themselves. In my life there have been a few times I've had issues with these kinds of people who want to run their mouths with their homies backing them up. Everytime I've pursued catching the individual alone and confronting him man to man, it's quite a different story. That's why so many join gangs. They're not much of man on their own.

Sounds like a real nice family doesn't it.

Praying for their victim, and praying for us all - cause they'll be back out on the street soon.

    God bless.
