Showers possible for State Fair opening, but weekend looks great

Overcast skies are expected to hang around until then.
"Yeah, we’re still dealing with the cloud cover, and we’re going to be dealing with the cloud cover for the next couple of days anyway," Johnson said. "(There will be) at least a peak or two of sunshine tomorrow, but don’t break out the sunglasses just yet. Wednesday looks like a better day with highs in the upper 70s – not too shabby."
A low-pressure system off the North Carolina coast brought some rain to the central part of the state Sunday and Monday.
A high-pressure system from the north that's moving south will bring dryer air and more sunshine and warmer temperatures on Tuesday. By Wednesday, the highs will reach the mid- to upper 70s.
Overnight lows will stay in the mid-to upper 50s for the next several days, but could dip into the high 40s by next Sunday.
