Brief outage leaves Fayetteville in the dark

Fayetteville, N.C. — For about an hour Saturday night, tens of thousands of residents of Fayetteville and surrounding communities lost power.
Many reported seeing the power flicker and then suddenly go out.
According to PWC, about 31,500 customers were affected. Power went off at about 10 p.m. and was back on by 11:10 p.m.
Fire trucks were sent to an electric substation on Owen Drive after some witnesses reported seeing sparks there. PWC did not officially release a cause of the outage.
