Bridge work closes part of Salisbury Street
Posted June 15, 2013
Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh's Salisbury Street was closed through the weekend between Peace and Lane streets as city workers begin construction of an elevated pedestrian walkway. The $100,000 project will replace a footbridge closed in 2008.
The new bridge, expected to be complete by the end of the year, will link Halifax Mall to more parking.
It will be lit by LED bulbs which will make the bridge safer for pedestrians after dark and will provide a shimmer effect on the traffic lanes below.
