Raleigh, N.C. — Bridge repairs will require two westbound lanes on Interstate 540 to close this weekend near Buffaloe Road in Raleigh.
Starting at 9 p.m. Friday, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close two of the three lanes on I-540 westbound between the Buffaloe Road, near mile marker 20, and the bridge over the Neuse River, at mile marker 19.
The closure is needed so workers can repair a bridge joint. The bridge remains safe. The left lane will remain open.
The lane reductions will continue through the weekend, and traffic to all lanes will be restored before the Monday morning commute.
