Bridge collapses near Capital Boulevard bus station; no injuries reported

Emergency crews responded to the 2200 block of Capital Boulevard Friday morning after a pedestrian bridge behind a Greyhound bus station collapsed.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Emergency crews responded to the 2200 block of Capital Boulevard Friday morning after a bridge behind a Greyhound bus station collapsed.

The bridge was not in use and was blocked off to the public when it collapsed, according to Wake County Emergency Medical Services spokesman Jeffrey Hammerstein.

Officials were checking the area to see if anyone was underneath the bridge, but no injuries were reported.

No other information about the cause of the incident has been released.
