Break-ins reported in Cary neighborhood

Posted May 10, 2011

Police said Tuesday they are investigating a series of break-ins in a Cary neighborhood.

Someone broke into several homes near Castalia Drive over the weekend and took weapons, electronics and tools. No one was home at the time of the crimes.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators should contact the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746.

Crime Stoppers pays up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest or indictment of those responsible for certain types of crimes.

Over the past year, Cary police have responded to 209 residential forced-entry burglaries, they said.

I live in Cary and had a break-in. THEY thought it was pointless fingerprinting my car because I had already touched it.

Anyone breaking into my home is taking their life in their hands.

It's the economy faults. Can't afford the prison to hold all the crimminals. So they get released to start over again. Most elect to serve time instead of probation because they know they'll get out quick and cost them less money.

I live in Cary, but I live about 15-20 from there and the neighborhood that I live in is having break-ins too.

There are break in all over all the time, just not getting new coverage. Police will try in some cases, to get fingerprints or shoe prints, but most time the first thing they ask is if you have homeowner insurance. I know the police are short handed and have very stressful job to perform. I respect that. Advise given to me, check the local pawn shops for awhile and see if your property shows up.

Does the economic situation really give someone the right to enter someone else's home and take what the homeowner has worked for? I don't think so. Stop blaming the economy and put the blame on the criminals doing the thefts! There are jobs out there (some) but the people breaking in won't work because it's above them.

CPD actually has to work since they can't pin it on BC. I'm sure if they could they would find a way to implicate him in this as well! BC INNOCENT!
