Bragg soldier dies in motorcycle crash

A Fort Bragg soldier died Sunday after authorities said he crashed his motorcycle into a parked car outside a Fayetteville restaurant.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier died Sunday after authorities said he crashed his motorcycle into a parked car outside a Fayetteville restaurant.

Fayetteville police said 23-year-old Matthew Robinson was driving his 2013 Yamaha motorcycle along Sycamore Dairy Road about 11 a.m. when he went off the right side of the road, struck the curb and hit an unoccupied 2012 Dodge Avenger in the parking lot of the Mash House.

Robinson was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Robinson, of Corona, Calif., was a Signal Support noncommissioned officer Company A, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
