Bragg soldier dies in barracks

— An 82nd Airborne Division paratrooper was found unresponsive in his barracks Saturday evening and was later pronounced dead, authorities said Tuesday.

Spc. David M. Gannon, 34, of West Jordan, Utah, was a grenadier in Company C, 2nd Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team.

His death remains under investigation.

Gannon joined the Army in February 2011 and was deployed to Afghanistan from March to August 2012.
