FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg solider has been charged with several counts of rape, the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday.

Daniel Allen Moore, 23, who is a member of the B Co. 3rd Military Information Support Group, was charged Wednesday with second-degree sex offense and three counts of second-degree rape. He was held at the Hoke County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.

Hoke sheriff’s investigators did not release information about the alleged crimes, which they said occurred between July and late October. A report of a sexual assault was made to the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command in October, and the case was referred to the sheriff’s office because the alleged crimes happened in Hoke County.

Moore was found in Virginia and turned over to Hoke County authorities Thursday.
