FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier has been charged with killing a woman at a Myrtle Beach motel.

Chandler Ari Dunmeyer, 19, was arrested Tuesday on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Myrtle Beach officers went to the Beachcomber Ocean Front Inn shortly after 1 a.m. Monday and found 20-year-old Colee Alora Muirhead shot to death in her room.

According to NBC affiliate WMBF, investigators linked Dunmeyer to the crime through a series of text messages between him and Muirhead in which they discussed meeting at the motel and a specific amount of money. Dunmeyer also was seen on motel security cameras as the last person to go into Muirhead's room, the station reported.

Dunmeyer is a member of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, authorities said.
