Bragg officials investigating military police officer's death

Posted September 3

— A 23-year-old military police officer was found dead Sunday on post at Fort Bragg, military officials said Wednesday.

Pvt. 1st Class Darrell Robinoson, of San Angelo, Texas, was assigned to the 550th Military Working Dog, 42nd Military Police Detachment, 503rd Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade.

It's unclear how Robinson died, officials said, and his death is under investigation.

"We are deeply saddened by this sudden and unexpected loss of our soldier," Lt. Col. Carolina K.M. Horton, Robinson's battalion commander, said in a statement. "We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of Pvt. 1st Class Robinson."

Robinson joined the Army in May 2013 and completed one station unit training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.

His awards included the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon.

While a sad situation, a PFC is not an officer. Just makes the whole article confusing.

The "officer" reference is to his job as a police officer in the military, not his rank in the military.
