LOUISBURG, N.C. — Louisburg police said Thursday they have detained three boys in connection with threats against a Franklin County middle school teacher.

Juvenile petitions for felony conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon were filed Monday against a 12-year-old and two 13-year-old students, Louisburg police Capt. Jason Abbott said.

Further details were not released because of the suspects' ages.

Franklin County Schools Superintendent Eddie Ingram said last week that a parent found a threat on a Facebook page that was directed toward a Terrell Lane Middle School science and math teacher.

Police officers investigating the complaint found two knives in the book bag of one of the students, Ingram said.

The teacher mentioned in the alleged threat was shaken but is fine, he said.
