If you're looking for affordable holiday gifts for friends and family, the Friends of the Chapel Hill Public Library has a sale for you ...

The group will host a big sale Friday through Sunday at the library, 100 Library Dr., Chapel Hill.

You'll find books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl and even some jigsaw puzzles. All proceeds support the collections, services, and programs of the Chapel Hill Public Library, according to a press release.

The members only preview sale is 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday. (Memberships are sold at the door - $10 for students adn $35 for families).

The sale is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday. On Sunday, shoppers can bring their own bags and fill them with books for just $5 a bag. (That excludes media, which still are just $1 each on Sunday).

Books for kids start at 50 cents. Most items are priced under $3. There are lots of gently used books, including many items that are gift-able, the press release says. In fact, there will be a collection of holiday favorites for all ages, including cook books, at the big sale and in the library's book store.

The sale takes place in the meeting rooms on the upper level of the library. The Friends Book Store, inside the lower level entrance, also will have gift quality books on sale during the hours of the big sale.

The group's website has more information about the sale.
