FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County detectives on Sunday charged a Hoke County man with committing sex acts against a child.

Marshall Fontana Wiggs, 53, of 110 Spacer Drive, was arrested earlier this month and charged with first degree statutory sex offense, second degree forcible sex offense, first degree kidnapping, crime against nature and taking indecent liberties with a child.

Investigators have since learned that Wiggs committed these crimes against his nine-year-old victim on more than on occasion and have charged him with ten additional counts.

Investigators say Wiggs forced his victim to participate in sex acts with him between Jan. 1 and Feb. 8 of this year. He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $450,000 secured bond.

Wiggs is expected to make a first appearance in Cumberland County District Court on these latest charges on Wednesday.
