CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police said a bomb threat prompted them to close the 400 block of West Rosemary Street Thursday morning.

Police said the threat did not specify a target. It was called in from a phone that can only be used to call 911.

Officers did not find anything during a search, and the street has been reopened, police said.

The Greenbridge development construction site was evacuated as a precaution during the search, developer spokesman Mark Vevle said in a statement.

"It is unfortunate that such pranks waste taxpayer dollars and distract our police and firefighters from the important work of protecting our citizens," Velve said.

Construction remains on schedule, he said.
