— Residents in parts of Granville and Franklin counties are being advised to boil their water after a contractor doing bridge work caused a pipe break.

Authorities with Franklin County Public Utilities said customers near Holden and Jackson roads should boil water for a full minute before using it for consumption, cooking, washing dishes or brushing teeth.

The water break is causing periods of low pressure, which increases the possibility of bacterial contamination.
