— The City of Henderson is advising some residents to boil water following a pipe break Wednesday.

Officials said customers may experience periods of low or no water pressure as crews work to repair the break to a 10-inch line on Beckford Drive. The low pressure increases the potential for harmful bacteria to enter the water distribution system.

Customers from Beckford Drive to Luluas Landing are advised to boil water vigorously for a full minute before using for drinking, eating, food preparation, washing dishes or brushing teeth.

Officials said the advisory will be rescinded when sample water tests are completed to ensure bacteria levels are safe.

According to City of Henderson - The only ones who need to worry about boiling water are the businesses along Dabney Drive near Beckford — Food Lion, Bojangles, Wendy's, etc. — and back up Beckford towards Andrews Avenue (Radio Lane or thereabouts). Rest of City OK.
    Very contained area.
