EASTOVER, N.C. — Authorities in the Eastover community in Cumberland County are encouraging residents to boil water after a water main break early Wednesday.

The break caused low pressure in parts of the Eastover Sanitary District water system, affecting areas east of Interstate 95, officials said.

Water pressure was being restored to the system late Wednesday morning, but as a precaution, officials said people should boil water used for human consumption until additional testing can be completed.

Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.

Anyone with questions should call the Eastover Sanitary District at 910-229-3716.
