BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. — The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office pulled human remains from the Cape Fear River Friday after some fishermen reported seeing a pickup truck hit the water.

The fishermen told authorities that they heard a splash and saw the truck float by as they fished from a bridge, Maj. Philip Little said.

Divers found the truck, empty, but their search turned up another vehicle as well.

Little said a car, reported missing from Robeson County in 2001, was found with human remains inside. The identity of the person has not yet been released.
