Body found in Raleigh rock quarry

print friendly

Wake County sheriff's investigators said Monday that there doesn't appear to be foul play in the death of a woman found in a rock quarry off Capital Boulevard.

The woman, identified as Dolly Lameijer, 74, was found Sunday afternoon in the Hanson Rock Quarry at 10501 Capital Blvd.

Lameijer's body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy to find out how she died.

Nice of WRAL to place just enough to get peope speculating.

Heavenly

Well it got your attention and therefore I am wondering why you are here. Have compassion for this 74 year old lady. People do care and want to know.

No family statements in the story so hard to know what her habits were so guess we will know once the story is completed. Nice of WRAL to place just enough to get peope speculating.

74 years old, could be a lot of things aside from foul play.

I knew a lady for many years who would walk through the woods at night on trails (sun bothered her eyes too bad to walk during the day). She was 90, had her cc permit, and she did this for over 20 years. She liked to "check things out" like new construction, road paving, and I could easily see her checking out a rock quarry. Elderly persons' body in a rock quarry's not so odd knowing there's quite a few people with habits like that.

"Her body was in a rock quarry and that is normal?"

The article did not say it was "normal", just that they did not suspect "foul play"....there is a difference.

No criticism intended-just trying to keep the the facts straight-that is, what facts we know.

Perhaps she fell in?

Condolences to her family.
