DURHAM, N.C. — No foul play is suspected in the death of a missing Butner man whose body was found by fishermen in the Eno River Sunday, according to the Durham County Sheriff's Office.

Fishermen found the body of Damien Mahaffey, 38, in the river about 1½ miles northeast of the Red Mill boat ramp, near Falls Lake, shortly before 7 a.m., officials said.

An autopsy will be performed by the Office of the State Chief Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause of death.

Durham County officials said that Mahaffey's family filed a missing persons report with Butner police Saturday.
