Boating down the Mekong River brings up memories

We took a boat trip down the Mekong River, where our Navy conducted patrol to prevent the Vietcong from using this important transportation resource.

This was a very dangerous duty. The enemy would take shots from the shore. Many of the narrow support channels were perfect for them to ambush the smaller patrol boats.
