Wanchese, N.C. — Dare County authorities said Wednesday they are searching for a missing boater who was last seen more than a week ago.
Witnesses last spoke with Jeffrey Paul McCusker, 51, on Jan. 26, according to the Dare County Sheriff’s Office. McCusker’s truck and empty boat trailer was seen Jan. 31 at the Wanchese boat ramp.
Deputies said the Coast Guard was notified and began searching for McCusker on Wednesday. They asked people in the area of Wanchese to be on the lookout for McCusker, who may be operating a Zodiac boat.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
