HENDERSON, N.C. — The city zoning board on Monday recommended putting a proposed adult bookstore in an industrial zone to isolate it from churches and daycare centers.

Chris Peacock, owner of a Rocky Mount adult bookstore, wanted to open another store in Henderson.

The issue now goes to the city council, which meets next Monday.

Peacock ran into similar obstacles when he opened his Rocky Mount store in 2003.
