Technical issue affects Blue Cross claims for 48 hours

Customers with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina will be unable to file claims for at least two days as a result of technical issues.
A spokesman for BCBS said Thursday that a technical problem is affecting the company’s claims processing and customer service systems. A restoration process was underway, but will take at least 48 hours to complete, the company said in a statement.
BCBS said customers should continue to seek medical attention and will be covered by their plan. The company is working with doctors, hospitals and pharmacies to make sure they are aware of the situation.
