Blown circuit to blame for Moore 911 outage
An equipment failure is being blamed for disabling the Moore County 911 service. The system was down for about three hours on Sunday.
Posted — UpdatedVASS, N.C. — An equipment failure is being blamed for disabling the Moore County 911 service. The system was down for about three hours on Sunday.
During that time, a man tried desperately to call for help when his neighbor's house caught fire. He eventually got through to the Highway Patrol, but the home, at 110 Birch Drive, burned to the ground.
Moore County Manager Wayne Vest told the Fayetteville Observer that a circuit blew, causing an outage that affected the backup system.
