Bladen County firefighter dies in wreck

— A Bladen County firefighter died in a wreck Thursday while going to fight a woods fire.

Details of the wreck that killed David Hunsinger Jr., of White Oak, weren't available.

Hunsinger worked for the Tar Heel Volunteer Fire Department at Bladen County Station 57 in the small town of Tar Heel. His father is chief of the department.

Hunsinger left behind a wife and children.

Services for Hunsinger are planned this weekend. Visitation will be held at the Tar Heel Fire Station from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturday. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the same location.
