BJ's Shopper Appreciation Event this weekend!

Posted August 29, 2013

BJ’s Shopper Appreciation Event is this weekend from Friday, August 30 - Monday, September 2. During the four-day event, you will have the chance to win a $200 BJ’s gift card and $200 donation to a charity of your choice in honor of the 200th BJ's club which opened this summer. They will also be giving away high-value BJ’s Labor Day Coupons!

Everyone is welcome at the Shopper Appreciation Event.  If you are not a member already, you can sign up for a free 60-Day Trial Membership that will begin on August 30 and can be activated until December 31. The risk-free, trial includes full member benefits and no surcharge. If you have been thinking about trying out BJ's, this is a great way to see what it's all about.

BJ’s is the only warehouse club that accepts manufacturer’s coupons on top of their own. You can see a video on how to save with coupons at BJ's on their You Tube channel.

· When purchasing a multi-pack of items at BJ’s, which is a set of items that could be sold individually (each item has a barcode) shrink-wrapped and sold together, shoppers can combine one BJ’s-issued coupon with manufacturers’ coupons. However, you cannot exceed the actual retail price in the total value of coupons. Examples of a multipack include a three-pack of toothpaste, two-pack of salad dressing or a three-pack of taco kits.

· Members may also use one BJ’s coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon on a single item.

· In terms of manufacturer’s coupons that are ‘buy one, get one free’ BJ’s will honor the coupon for items in stock as long as BJ’s price does not exceed the maximum value stated on the coupon. If the manufacturer’s coupon does not state the maximum value then BJ’s cannot honor the coupon.

I stopped by to check this out and the manager told me it was just a gift card giveaway. I asked about the coupons and there was one Labor Day weekend sheet with the other coupons, but the coupons were not very good.

westgurl, here is the response I received back from the BJ's PR firm. It's very unfortunate that the Fayetteville location is not offering the free trial. :

"All of the clubs in North Carolina are participating in the Labor day event which includes the $200 gift card winner/$200 donated to charity.

Free 60-Day Trial Memberships are offered at all clubs in NC EXCEPT Fayetteville, but anyone that has a free 60-day trial membership can shop at all of BJ’s 200 clubs.

I LOVE BJs -- the stacking of coupons has saved us a lot of money. We have also bought our patio furniture there and Christmas gifts! You have to know your prices, but it has saved us a lot over the years. The things we buy the most there include Motrin, individual eye drops, milk, deli meat (Boar's head), meat when we needed it, frozen pretzels (they have the really big ones, not the small ones from the regular grocery store!), flour (huge thing of organic flour there saves us about $5+ per container), and those disgusting peanut butter cheese things my kids love.

hope its just a case of mis-communication I would hate to go there and be told no event here

I spoke to someone who put me on hold and went to ask her manager, when she came back she asked if it was about the gift card I said yes and the free 60 day trial membership which is when she said no free memeberships and you could register for the gift cards and get coupons once you had a paid memebership

westgurl - the press release that they sent did not indicate that it was only at selected stores. I e-mail the PR people to see if they had a list of participating stores but I think it is supposed to be all stores. Did you speak with a manager about the event?

The new BJs club in Fayetteville says they are not observing this event, is this just for certain locations? Had been hoping tp try it out before I paid for the membership

diana123 BJ's is not more expensive than Sam's Club I am a member of both clubs. BJ's has a deli. Sam's does not. Land o Lake white American cheese is $3.69 a pound. Lowe foods sales this same cheese for $7.99 a pound on sale this week for $5.99 lb. You must know your prices somethings may be a better price on sale elsewhere like when you have super doubles. Not everything is a great price at everywhere. You can stack coupons with BJ's store coupon. If a item is three items grouped together you may use 3 coupons plus a store coupon. I shop both warehouse clubs and grocery stores like Harris Teeter.

this is more expensive than sam's or costco.
no way you can make a deal in this high end store.
