Big Boss Run Club, Raleigh Wine Shop celebrate anniversaries

On Tuesday, the Big Boss Run Club will celebrate five years. Weekly participants run 3 to 6 miles and enjoy local pints from the Raleigh brewery. In honor of the anniversary, there will be giveaways and special appearances from local food trucks - All American, BulKogi and JAM Ice Cream. The run club starts at 7 p.m.

Also celebrating an anniversary this week- Raleigh Wine Shop. The Glenwood South shop will celebrate on Sunday with free tastings, a store-wide sale, and giveaways. Food truck American Meltdown will be there selling melts and grilled cheeses.

Downtown Garner announces Downtown Sounds

Back by popular demand is Garner’s spring music, craft beer and food truck festival - Downtown Sounds. The food truck and craft beer line-up has not been announced, but fans should circle June 5 on their calendar. The event takes place at the Garner Performing Arts Center.

Future Chickenwire dates

These dates are later in this fall, but you want to plan ahead as Chickenwire pop-up dinners sell out fast. Sept. 11’s dinner will focus on Italian cuisine and Nov. 6 will focus on Spanish cuisine. Chefs and ticket sale dates have not been formally announced, but we will share when available.

Tickets on sale for Snap Pea Underground Street Thai pop-ups

Tickets are on sale now for Snap Pea Underground's Yam Yai street Thai pop-up event, which wraps up this weekend. Dinners are at Chapel Hill’s Midway Community Kitchen. Chef Jacob Boehm has traveled to Thailand, eaten and worked at many Thai restaurants, including the James Beard-award winning Hot Pot in Portland. Because of his passion and experience, this event is not something to miss.
