Bicyclist hit, injured in Raleigh

— A bicyclist was injured Saturday night after he was hit by a car on Six Forks Road in Raleigh, police said.

Derek C. Heckmann, 25, of Raleigh, was ejected from the bike and seriously injured after being struck by a silver Subaru traveling south around 8:30 p.m. He was taken to WakeMed with unknown injuries.

The driver and a passenger were not injured. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected in the crash.
