Bicyclist hit by car at Raleigh intersection

A bicyclist was hospitalized with a head injury Sunday after he was struck by a car in Raleigh, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A bicyclist was hospitalized with a head injury Sunday after he was struck by a car in Raleigh, police said. 

Police said a driver hit the man near the intersection of New Hope Road and Hollenden Drive around 7 p.m. The bicyclist, whose name was not released, was taken to WakeMed.

Police said the bicyclist would be charged with DWI.

The driver of the car will not be charged.

No one else was injured.
