WINDSOR, Maine — The Northeast Livestock Expo will welcome more than 2,600 students to Windsor, Maine, this year to have classes among the pigs and dairy heifers.
The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry says a Maine Agriculture in the Classroom grant will allow 57 busloads of children from 29 schools to go to the first day of the expo on May 19.
The students will have class at the Windsor Fairgrounds that day and witness dozens of agricultural presentations. The livestock expo, which is in its twelfth year, will run until May 21.
The Kid's Day activities on May 19 will cover everything from wildlife poaching to invasive beetles that harm trees.
