Better Business Bureau warns of online puppy scams

The Better Business Bureau is having a press conference in Omaha Tuesday to reveal information from its newest study regarding fake online pet sellers who steal from unsuspecting buyers.

OMAHA, NEB. — The Better Business Bureau is having a press conference in Omaha Tuesday to reveal information from its newest study regarding fake online pet sellers who steal from unsuspecting buyers.

According to the study, 80 percent of pay-per-click advertising in internet searches for pets may be scams.

The conference begins at 11 a.m. and will expose several known puppy scamms and provide examples of how victims are targeted.

Representatives from the Better Business Bureau, Nebraska Humane Society Capital Humane Society and Omaha Police Department will be in attendance.
