DURHAM, N.C. — Love is in the air in Durham! This time of year, the city has literally been filled with people out to show some love with a romantic gesture. Thinking of heading out with someone special? Restaurants can range from romantic to eccentric, and be perfect for a first date or lifelong romance.

Below are a few highlights of the best places for romantic dinners in Durham:

Revolution Durham features contemporary cuisine with global flair. This establishment is a favorite fine dining option among couples for relaxing ambience, modernist décor and presentation. They are highlighting a three course tasting menu and complimentary glass of sparkling wine with dinner or dessert for $55 per person. The regular dinner menu will also be available. Complimentary valet parking is offered Thursday through Saturday evenings.

Also on the list is Four Square Restaurant with local fine dining in the classic Victorian styled Bartlett-Mangum House. Pricing for Valentine’s Day is $75 per person for a three course meal including dessert sampler for two and available on Feb. 14-15. Alcoholic beverages are currently priced by glass or half-bottle.

Parizade has a long-standing reputation as a romantic dinner location as well. The intimate dining experience, a la carte menu, and featured wines will be on offer from Thursday to Sunday. They will be serving Hidden Crush wines from Central Coast, California at $8/glass or $32/bottle.

Rue Cler is a quaint and cozy venue with Parisian charm. They are noted for French and U.S. wines, and maintain a daily prix fixe dinner food menu for $55. As such, they have yet not announced a Valentine’s Day menu. For updates and hours, be sure to see their website or Facebook page.

Mateo Tapas is a great stop for new dates. This is the select-a-size dinner option with, ahem, the ability to pack it in earlier if needed, or revel in good company. Because they offer small plates and sampler platters, by the glass beverages or tasting flights, there is sure to be something for most palates.
