Best Pubs

RALEIGH, N.C. — St. Patrick's Day is a week away and we are celebrating early by naming our five favorite pubs in the Triangle! 

Hibernian (Raleigh, Cary) - With three locations (north Raleigh, Glenwood Avenue and Cary), this is a great place to enjoy a pint, especially on Glenwood's new rooftop patio. The food is pretty great too. They offer typical Irish fare - Bangers and Mash, Irish Breakfast and Corned Beef and Cabbage, and Irish-takes on other favorites like Irish corndogs with housemade kraut. 

Tir na Nog (Raleigh) - Any place that tries to break the Guinness World Record for people running in kilts, had to make our list! Music is a huge part of Irish culture and TNN on Blount Street in downtown Raleigh brings it every Friday night and then again Sunday afternoon with an Irish Jam Session. Add all that to their extensive beer list and food offerings (they marinate their wings in Guinness!) and they more than earned a spot on this list. 

Bull McCabes Irish Pub (Durham) - From beer battered fish and chips to bangers and mash, they capture the Irish spirit through the menu and beer selection, which features imports and domestics. And this summer they will have their beer garden open. (Note: March 19 they will close for 10 days to do some work on their patio.)

Natty Greene's (Raleigh) - Located on West Jones Street in downtown Raleigh, this brewery and restaurant has been serving customers since 2010. We love their seasonal beer offerings. A great bar to hang out and share some beer with friends. But make sure you come hungry because their food is great! Order the homemade chips to start. 

West 94th Street Pub (Durham) - Tucked away in the Woodcroft Shopping Center off of Hope Valley Road in Durham, this pub has some outstanding food! We first checked them out when we judged a barbecue grilling contest there. Great food and beer and a nice outdoor patio makes this a great place to check out for St. Patrick's Day.
