Best 1980s Toys

We got the gang from Coglin's, a 1980s-themed bar in downtown Raleigh, to help us out with this week's Five Faves.

When we first checked out Coglin's in downtown Raleigh, we were transported back to the 1980s! The bar pays tribute to the decade with movie posters, music, signature drinks and a great collection of toys from the decade.

We immediately got the idea to do a Five Faves: 1980s Toys.  We had hoped to do it around the holidays, but pushed it back since they were quite busy getting ready for their New Year's Eve bash.

So now, to help you re-live some summer fun from the 80s, Coglin's and WRAL's Out and About present our Five Faves: Best Toys from the 1980s:

The full list:

Transformers - More than meets the eye! Before this became an action movie franchise, Transformers were just awesome toys with a cartoon series.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Heroes in the half-shell!
McDonald's Happy Meal Toys - If you were a child in the 80s, you begged your mom to take you to McDonald's at least once a week to collect all of these toys. My personal favorite were the Muppet Babies ones. And on a side note, whatever happened to the McDonald's gang? Birdie, Grimace, Mayor McCheese and Hamburglar?
Slinky - Such a simple toy, but hours of fun. This toy always made me wish I had stairs in my house.
Rubix Cube - Apparently Coglin's "mysterious" namesake, Randy, can solve one of these.
With honorable mentions to Cabbage Patch Dolls, Muppet Babies and Fraggle Rock!

Which 80s toys are your favorite?
