BENSON, N.C. — One person was injured Sunday morning in a fire that destroyed a Benson mobile home, fire officials said.

The home, at 4815 Raleigh Road, was a total loss, said Cleveland Fire Marshall Chris Perry.

The resident, whose name was not released, was taken to Clayton Hospital and later transferred to the Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill for treatment of smoke inhalation.

Perry said the cause of the fire was still being investigated, but it appeared to be accidental.
