Raleigh, N.C. — Ben Folds will be the headline this year's Band Together Main Event concert this spring.
Folds, who was born in Winston-Salem, will be performing with just his piano at the May 6 show at Red Hat Amphitheater. He has previously played showed accompanied by the North Carolina Symphony.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb. 3. For more information, visit www.bandtogethernc.org.
Proceeds from the concert will go to help this year's nonprofit partner, the YMCA of the Triangle and its Southeast Raleigh project, which will include a wellness center, gym and an outdoor aquatics center. The facility will also be a community hub to facilitate partnerships that will provide a variety of services, including wellness, nutrition, education, healthcare, affordable housing and more for families in the area.
Band Together hopes to raise $1 million for the project.
This month, Band Together will host its Last Band Standing competition at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh. Proceeds from that show also help benefit the YMCA of the Triangle Southeast Raleigh facility.
