CARY, N.C. — The couple behind Raleigh's Bella Monica restaurant have opened a new venture in Cary's Parkside Town Commons.
Stellino's Italiano is described as a "neighborhood trattoria featuring thin-crust pizzas, pastas, seafood and chicken, as well as rustic pork and beef dishes comprised of time-tested Neapolitan recipes handed down from their grandparents."

"Although the menu is similar to our Bella Monica offerings, the bigger space allows us to execute some new menu items that we weren’t able to offer at Bella Monica,” owner Chef Corbett Monica said. “Because of those expanded food and beverage offerings, we felt a name change was needed to differentiate the brand.”

The pizza dough at Stellino's is made using imported Italian flours. It is then fermented for two days. The process makes hte dough light and crisp. The wine list at Stellino's features a mix of all Italian, hard-to-find selections.

Monica and his wife, Julie, opened Bella Monica in 2000 on Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh. It has been a multiple Out and About Voters' Choice Winner for best Italian cuisine.
