Belk celebrates 125th anniversary with party

Head to the Crabtree Valley Mall Belk on Wednesday for music, promotions and (for the first 300 people through the door) a gift card valued anywhere between $5 and $1,000.

RALEIGH, N.C. — William Henry Belk opened the first Belk store in Monroe, N.C. on May 29, 1888 – 125 years ago.
On Wednesday, Belk stores in more than 300 locations across 16 southern states will be celebrating the company's anniversary with an open house featuring music and promotions. 
Triangle customers can get in on the fun at the Crabtree Valley Mall location starting at 9 a.m.  Festivities will include entertainment, music, refreshments and sales promotions as well as a few surprises. Harvey Schmitt, President of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce will speak as well as Pat Wilkins, President of the Raleigh Junior League.
The first 300 customers who arrive at the Crabtree store in Raleigh will receive a Belk gift card valued between $5 and $1,000, so you might want to get there early!
