When I saw the headline, I expected this to be the Gregson St. bridge near Peabody... there's even a website dedicated to all the truck crashes there. (http://11foot8.com).

If everyone stops and has a few beers then the trailer could be made smaller so they could dislodge it. I think the citizens should rally to help with this.

Seems like there's a lot of folks who hate Bud Light... Good, Great, more for me!

If that bridge were any lower, pedestrians would bump their heads...

I knew some guys at Duke that would have emptied it out to make it easier to remove!

How many low clearance bridges does this city have?
    Obamacare for life

The same as many cities around here. The problem isn't the cities bridges its the people driving the trucks not paying attention to the signs. There is a 12' 0 clearance ahead sign up way before the bridge on Chapel Hill Street by the police dept and one on the bridge itself. The driver didn't know his height and didn't turn off on either of the two streets before the bridge within 5o ft of each other to avoid this...Operator error not low bridge issue..
I drove trucks through Durham for many yrs on my last job and never had a issue getting around the area...I knew how to read the signs before these bridges and knew my trailer height.
