RALEIGH, N.C. — Spring-like weather will reign over North Carolina for one more day before a cold front crashes the party, bringing with it much-needed rain.

"Unbelievable temperatures. We'll be in the 70s again tomorrow, but after that, all bets are off," WRAL meteorologist Amiee Wilmoth said.

Monday will see a high around 72 degrees amid mostly cloudy skies. Spotty showers could fall in the morning, while the afternoon will see a lull in the rain.

A cold front will roll across North Carolina from the east to the west Monday evening.

"It's certainly going to turn much cooler around here as we get into Tuesday," Wilmoth said. "Just keep the rain gear handy over the next couple days."

The best chances of rain will be overnight Monday into early Tuesday. Chances will decrease during the day Tuesday but jump up again overnight into Wednesday. A few showers are possible Wednesday, and then a drying spell sets in.

Tuesday will see a high around 59 degrees, and that will slide into the low 50s by Thursday. Temperatures will warm up slightly for the weekend, reaching around 60 degrees.
