Bear Creek man accused of stealing farm equipment

A Bear Creek man has been charged in connection with the theft of farm equipment.

BEAR CREEK, N.C. — A Bear Creek man has been charged in connection with the theft of farm equipment.

Gerry Thomas Peek, 56, of 2693 Bear Creek Church Rd., was arrested and charged with felonious larceny and felonious possession of stolen property.

Peek was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Pittsboro District Court on June 2.

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on May 2 at Peek’s residence. Police recovered a Bush Hog post hole digger, Briggs and Stratton generator, 5hp Huskee log splitter and a 150 gal boom sprayer.

The recovered items, estimated at $2,700, were returned to the victim.
