DURHAM, N.C.Ed Mitchell, the barbecue pit master who helped bring national attention to The Pit in Raleigh, is opening a new restaurant this fall at American Tobacco Campus in Durham, ATC announced Tuesday.

'Que will be on the ground floor of the new Diamond View III building. The menu will feature Mitchell's whole-hog, pit-cooked barbecue, a full bar and diverse wine cellar. Causal lunches will start at $10 and slightly more formal dinners will start around $15.

"There’s a shared heritage between what I’m doing with barbecue and what’s happening at American Tobacco Campus that makes this unique,” Mitchell said in a statement. “North Carolina was built in large part on the Golden Leaf and on barbecue. We’re adding new twists to that heritage. American Tobacco Campus is now a center of 21st century innovation. Ed Mitchell’s ‘Que will feel just as fresh while delivering the best BBQ around.”

'Que will have 150 seats inside and more on an outdoor patio.

Mitchell has been featured in Bon Appetit magazine and famously faced off against Food Network's Bobby Flay in a cook-off. He has become an international barbecue ambassador to connoisseurs across the globe and recently traveled to Australia.

Mitchell parted ways with The Pit two years ago to pursue other ventures.

The Pit is opening a location in Durham later this year.

Note: Capitol Broadcasting Company, which owns WRAL, also owns American Tobacco Campus.
